Types of Ping pong tables:
Ping pong tables have three variations in size. One is the official ping pong table size and the other is its modifications according to the needs.

Mini table tennis tables:
These are usually 6 feet in length and 3 feet in width. That’s the least size of tables used in the market. It is for the kids to start having an outlook on the ping pong. People use this table due to its easy accommodation because it can be adjusted in the small area to have fun in free time. 3/4 size ping pong table:
3/4 size table tennis tables also don’t have the official size but are very good to use as an alternative if you don’t have much space to settle a ping pong table. 7 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 2.5 feet high; these are the dimensions of a 3/4 size ping pong table. You can adjust these tables in your garage and use them to spend family time. You can also use them to have a start in the table tennis sport. It gives realistic ping pong gameplay while being placed in a compact space at an affordable price.
Full-size table tennis table dimensions:
There is a standard/official ping pong table size set by the International table tennis federation (ITTF). If any company wants to approve its table, the company has to meet the basic requirements demanded by the ITTF. These rules apply to every event organized by the ITTF and also apply to the Olympic games. In the following, I have organized all the basic requirements in different units for olympic ping pong table size.

Length of a ping pong table:
The standard ping pong table size is 9 feet in length. It is divided into two halves each of 4.5 feet. This length has been determined based on the intensity and variability of the gameplay. The playing field should not be too short which can ruin the joy of the game and neither too long which makes it boring.
Width of a ping pong table:
The standard ping pong table width is 5 feet. This has also been determined keeping in view the standard of gameplay. The width includes the horizontal edges of the table.
Height of a ping pong table:
Determining the height of the ping pong table has also played a very important role in providing a level playing field for players of all heights. Wheelchair players also play on this table. So, it had to be compatible with them.
Thickness of table tennis tables:
Ping pong tables vary in thickness. There are tables with a thickness of ½ inch which are considered the thinnest. But the ITTF events must have a thickness of a minimum of 1 inch.
Thickness matters due to the variations in the bounce of the ball during play. Thick tables produce more bounce while the thinner ones produce less bounce. ITTF has set a rule to measure the official bounce. If a ball is released from the height of 30cm and bounces 26cm, this table has a perfect bounce.
Weight of table tennis tables:
Weight of the table matters for the stability of the table. Heavier the table, the more stable it is. In international events, heavier tables are preferred. A full-size table tennis table weighs 136kg or 300lbs. For enjoyment purposes, generally, the lighter tables are used ranging from 25 to 70 kg.
The Net of table tennis table:
There is an essential part of the table present at the center of the table and divides into two halves of the table. It should be 6 inches high and 5 feet wide. It can be of any dark color like dark black, dark green, etc. The color can vary from the color of the table. It is called the net. The net should have a white stripe on the upper edge. Its thickness should be 15mm or less. The lower end of the net should be closer to the table surface.
The net is held on the table with the help of two poles. The poles should not be wider than 6 inches from the table. That’s why the width of the net is 6 feet but of the table is 5 feet.

Table tennis table Color:
Generally, dark green and dark blue are used as ping pong table colors. There are also other colors available. There is no restriction by the ITTF in choosing the color although the color should be dark. Dark colors don’t hinder the visibility of the ball. The surface should not be glary because it can cast a reflection.
Table tennis table Markings:
The centerline, sideline, and endline are the only lines to be marked on the ping pong table. The centerline is for the doubles game and the other two are the essentials of the table tennis game.

What is the size of table tennis court?
There needs a good enough space around the table tennis table if you want to practice for professional play. The requirement of the space can vary according to the level you are playing like recreational play needs less space as compared to professional play. If you see table tennis matches, you would have noticed that players move quite away from the table to play some shots. For this reason, ITTF set a rule for the minimum clearance around ping pong table.
In the ITTF competitions and Olympics, the size of the table tennis court must be 46 feet long and 23 feet wide. As I have mentioned above, space can vary concerning professional level. National tournaments require less space like 40 feet long and 20 feet wide.
If you just want to put the table tennis table in the garage or recreational room for fun, the Ping pong table minimum clearance can be accommodated to 19 feet long and 11 feet wide.
